the car alarm

So yesterday I went to get something out of my car. The window was down but the door was locked. (dumb move #1) So I reached into unlock the door. As soon as I did, the car alarm started to go off. It was then I noticed the 20 people across the street having a BBQ. To my horror they all watched on as I ran in and out of the house no less than 5 times. I couldn’t find my keys and I had no idea how to shut the alarm off. I looked every where in my car and in my purse – the alarm going off the whole time for about 5 minutes. And where did I find the keys to end my humiliation? In the front door, right where I had left them after coming home from church with an arm full of grocery bags! (dumb move #2)

  1. I let the admin of this site (aka my brother in law) borrow my van while up for a visit. I never lock my van. He didn’t know this. For some reason, when my van is locked by the remote key feature, the driver’s side door actually doesn’t lock but the alarm is still activated. So, at 10:30 at night in a very groggy state I went out to re-install carseats. I tried a sliding door, it was locked. I tried the passenger door, it was locked. Then I tried the driver’s door. It was open! Hooray, I wouldn’t have to go back to the house to hunt for my keys! BUMMER! The alarm was now going off and the noise made my heart skip a beat or two! Fortunately, I found my keys quickly and shut the van up promptly. :o)
